Yes, it is supposed to be inspired by military designs and by the Batmobile from Miller's The Dark Knight Returns.

Well, there go my high expectations of the film.
Well, it is being called BATMAN BEGINS, a prequel to the movies that have been released so far. And the 'batmobile' is supposed to be an experimental military prototype. I think the 'look' might work, as Bruce might not be experienced enough to create all the custom work yet, and unsure if he'll even have his go-go-gadget utility-belt in the script.
Reminds me of the Marines tank from ALIENS.
I know this movie is going to suck ass, but that is THE stupidest vehicle I have EVER seen, and it is NOT a Batmobile!
